Jimbo Wood, MS, PT

Owner and Physical Therapist

Jimbo Wood is a native of Anniston, Alabama. As a student at the University of Georgia, Jimbo worked with the football and men’s basketball teams through the University’s Sports Medicine Department before graduating with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Returning to Alabama, Jimbo earned his Master's degree in Exercise Physiology and physical therapy from University of Alabama at Birmingham's School of Physical Therapy. The next four years found Jimbo in private practice before opening Horizon Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Inc. in the spring of 2005. In 2010 and 2011, Horizon Physical Therapy was named one of the top 50 businesses world-wide owned and operated by a UGA graduate. His clinical specialties include sacroiliac joint dysfunctions and overuse injuries in runners, cyclists, and tri-athletes. Jimbo is married to Beth, a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a UGA graduate. They have 2 children, Davis and Porter. Jimbo is a member of One Hope Church, and he is an avid runner, mountain biker, and rock climber.

      Mackenzie Howe

      Front Office Manager

      Mackenzie grew up in Athens, Georgia. She attended Kennesaw State University on an indoor/outdoor track and cross- country scholarship, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Health Sciences. Upon graduation, Mackenzie earned a Master’s degree from the University of Bridgeport. Mackenzie runs competitively, and most recently, had the opportunity to compete in the Olympic trials for the marathon. She joined the HPT team in March 2016 as the front office manager. Mackenzie currently resides in Athens. She attends Athens Church and in her free time enjoys being outdoors, running, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.

        Kellie Moore, PT, DPT

        Physical Therapist

        Kellie Moore was raised in Eastman, Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia from 2008-2010, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Following undergraduate studies, she attended the University of North Georgia from 2011-2014 where she received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Kellie is particularly interested in neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation. Kellie worked as a student tech at Horizon Physical Therapy during her time at the University of Georgia. Following physical therapy school, she returned to Athens to join the Horizon Physical Therapy team in 2014. Kellie currently resides in Athens and is married to Daniel Moore, a native of Thomson, Georgia. Kellie and Daniel attend Watkinsville First Baptist Church. She enjoys cooking, photography, attending UGA sporting events, and spending time with her family.

          Hooman Nourparvar, PT, DPT

          Physical Therapist

          Hooman Nourparvar was raised in Roswell, Georgia.  He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2010, earning a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. Hooman continued his education at Georgia Regents University in Augusta, Georgia, where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and received the Chairman’s Award recognizing his leadership and service to the program. His interests include resistance training, maximizing performance, and injury prevention. Hooman can be found spending his free time burning calories in the Georgia sunshine.

            Carrie Hilley, PTA

            Physical Therapist Assistant

            Carrie Hilley graduated from Athens Technical College in 2008 with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science. Following graduation from Athens Tech’s PTA program, Carrie worked in acute care for two years at a local hospital and joined the Horizon Physical Therapy team in 2010 and now serves as Clinic Director.  Her areas of clinical interests include Functional Movement Screenings (FMS), Corrective Exercise Prescriptions, and Manual Therapy. Carrie is a part of the One Hope Church community and in her spare time enjoys traveling, hiking, running and mountain biking.

                Beth Wood

                Billing Services Director

                Beth is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in English. After attending the University of Montevallo, where she earned her M.Ed. in secondary language arts education, Beth taught middle school English for ten years. Beth is married to Jimbo and has two beautiful children, Davis and Porter. Beth enjoys running, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.
